Walk Description & Map

A ten day trip to Scotland including three days walking on Skye followed by another four in Glen Shiel (click here for Glen Shiel). A mix of weather, either really good or pretty poor, fortunately more good than bad!

The journey to Skye took about 25 hours! I left about 16:30 on the Sunday and arrived about 17:30 Monday. This involved catching the train from Diss to London and then the Caledonian Sleeper from London to Inverness. As I woke up on the sleeper I discovered we where running about 2 and a half hours late as someone had jumped in front of the train in front of us near Manchester and so we had had to wait for that to be sorted before we could move.

Because of the delay on the sleeper I missed my booked bus to Skye from Inverness, however Scotrail very generously arranged for me to travel free from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh on the train. This then left me 3 hours in Kyle while I waited for the next bus to Sligachan which was also the bus Chris, Mehmet and Gemma were arriving on from Glasgow.
